Ultra-Shear Stubby Solid Carbide Spiral Bits are made to perform especially well in desktop and benchtop CNC machines, where shorter tooling can make a noticeable difference. Each bit has a 1/4" shank and 2" overall length, making it 1/2" shorter than many bits with the same cutting length. That shorter profile helps reduce deflection and chatter in compact CNCs with ER-11 collets, supporting more controlled routing in machines with limited spindle size and rigidity.

We offer three square-end configurations for common CNC cutting tasks. The up-cut bit has a 7/8" cutting length and is intended for solid wood and cuts where chip evacuation is important. The down-cut bit has a 3/4" cutting length and is used for clean top edges in plywood and other panels. The compression bit also has a 3/4" cutting length and cuts toward the middle from both the top and bottom surfaces. Each style is available individually or in a 4-pack, and the 3-piece CNC set includes one up-cut, one down-cut, and one compression bit.
