Great for Assembly Work, Too. Slots are milled into the phenolic along both edges. This lets you clamp the square to your MFT (or any workbench, for that matter) and then your workpiece to the square. Now your work is perpendicular to the work surface. You can also clamp the square to two joining workpieces, holding them perpendicular to each other. If you use it to square up your work during assembly, don’t worry if you get a little too generous with the glue…in won’t stick to the square.  

Large Machinery Set-Up Tired of setting up resaw cuts with a small square? The Layout & Assembly Square gives you a generous 15 inches on each side and the 3/4" width keeps the square upright while you use both hands for adjustments. At the table saw, the extra length lets you span your saw blade from front to back while setting up your miter gauge. 

Keep Your MFT Square Technically, your fence and guide rail don’t have to be square to the holes in your MFT top to give you square cuts. But anyone who has used the system knows that it can be reassuring when everything lines up and you can use your stops and hold downs in conjunction with the fence. The MFT Layout and Assembly Square comes with two 20mm location dogs. Drop them in any two holes in an MFT table top and your square is correctly aligned with all the holes. Now set your guide rail and fence to the square and everyone is on the same page of the playbook.

Woodpeckers Precision and Quality. We meticulously machine the MFT Layout & Assembly Square from a nearly indestructible solid phenolic. It’s the same material we use for our top-of-the-line router tables. It won’t warp or twist and it is completely impervious to moisture. The location pins are turned on state-of-the-art CNC lathes and anodized to give them our familiar “Woodpecker Red” color and a tough finish.
