Ultra-Shear 1/2" Solid Carbide Spiral Flush Trim Bits are made for pattern cutting and flush trimming with a 1/2" cutter diameter, 1/2" shank, and 3-flute spiral geometry. The double-bearing pilot is matched to the cutter diameter so the bit follows a pattern and transfers the shape to the finished workpiece. 

We offer up-cut and down-cut versions in 1-1/2", and 2" cut lengths. We recommend choosing the cut length closest to the material thickness and selecting the cut direction for the material.

Up-Cut or Down-Cut? Up-Cut bits pull the material toward the router…upward when using a hand-held router and downward when your router is in a table. It's the generally preferred approach for solid wood. Down-cut bits push the material away from the router. Usually not an issue when working with a hand-held router, but on a router table, down-cut bits require some care and attention. Their upside is a super-clean top surface on plywood…particularly plywood with thin face veneers.
