Inch Half Round Router Bits For Loose Tenons

These bits are the perfect companions to Woodpeckers new Mortising Jig. Use your plunge router to cut mortises exactly the size you want, exactly where you want them. Set up stops and fences so your mortises line up perfectly. Then step over to your router table and make the tenon stock to put it all together. 

To mill your own custom loose tenon stock, machine the thickness of your stock to fit the mortise. Next, profile one edge. Cut the width of the material to match the mortise and finally, profile the second edge. Now you have tenon stock that fills the mortise completely and looks great exposed. You can use the same species or bring even more attention to the detail with contrasting stock.
