The taper adds strength to the bit, reducing vibration while maintaining the same detail as a straight ball nose of the same diameter. Now Ultra-Shear is taking the conical ball nose to another level with 3 or 4 flutes instead of 2. You'll get smoother cuts at the same feed rate, or you can bump up the feed rate while maintaining cut quality…or split the difference and go a little faster and still get more cuts per inch.

We offer these bits in 7° taper - 1/8" diameter tip with 1" cut length, 1° taper - 1/8" diameter tip with a 1-1/2" cut length and an 11° taper - 1/16" diameter tip with 1" cut length. All are available individually or in 4-packs.
