Woodpeckers Slab Flattening Mill
The Woodpeckers Slab Flattening Mill (SFM) lineup gives woodworkers router-based systems for surfacing live-edge slabs, glued panels, tabletops, countertops, workbenches, and other oversized stock. The standard SFM router sleds guide a router over the slab in a controlled plane and are offered in three maximum slab size ranges: SFM Small handles slabs up to 24" x 48", SFM Regular handles slabs up to 38" x 57", and SFM XL handles slabs up to either 62" x 105" or 38" x 129", depending on rail configuration.
Standard SFM models do not include built-in dust collection, but Woodpeckers offers a separate dust collection shroud that bolts to the carriage and works with shop vacuums or larger dust collectors.
The SFM Pro models build on the original system with a redesigned router carriage, integrated dust collection, twin pick-up points, and a flexible full-surround curtain. The SFM Pro handles a maximum slab size of 48.5" x 58", while the SFM Pro XL extends maximum slab size to 48.5" x 134".
The SFM Pro + EZ Drive and SFM Pro XL + EZ Drive add two hand cranks, synchronized belts, and a pulley-driven system for moving the router carriage across and along the slab. These versions keep the Pro carriage with integrated dust collection while adding crank-controlled travel.
