Quilted Maple Billets bring highly figured maple stock to woodworking projects in substantial, ready-to-work sizes. Each billet measures a minimum of 2 in. thick, 6 in. wide, and 22 in. long. The quilted figure is named for its resemblance to patchwork patterns in fabric quilts, and each piece varies widely in color, grain pattern, and figure, so no two billets will look the same.
These billets are sourced from a Pacific Northwest supplier that serves musical instrument makers. Woodpeckers identifies this material as B-grade because of natural bark inclusions. Those inclusions are not considered defects, though the billets are not intended for musical instruments. Because wood naturally moves, shrinks, and expands, dimensions may vary by +/-1/8 in. from the listed size. Due to international shipping restrictions, this product ships within the U.S. only.
