Aluminum Precision Woodworking Squares

Woodpeckers Precision Woodworking Squares are designed for accurate layout, machine setup and assembly work across a wide range of shop tasks. Choose from the apron-friendly 6 and 8 inch squares, the most popular 12 inch square, and the larger 18 and 26 inch models for sheet goods and more.

Each square uses a one-piece central core machined from cast and ground plate aluminum (the most stable aluminum made), with precision-pinned cheeks that are set back to create a shoulder. That shoulder lets the square register on the edge of a board without being held in place.

The hands-free design, the wide stable base for vertical use and the heft and balance of these squares combine to make them a joy to use, as well as deadly accurate. But we didn’t stop with just a great square, we laser engrave scales on both sides of the blade (inch or metric, your choice) to an accuracy of ±.004" total accumulated error over the entire length of the scale. 

When the job is done, your squares store in a wall-mountable Rack-It that keeps them safe, but always in plain sight and ready for the next project.  

We take great pride in the design and manufacturing of these squares. So much so that we will repair or replace your Precision Woodworking Square anytime you find it to be out of tolerance. No fine print, no disclaimers. If it’s not square, we’ll make it square or replace it.

The 6 Inch (641) and 8 Inch (851) are available in 150mm and 200mm metric versions and include a wall-mountable Rack-It.

The 12 Inch (1281) is available in a 300mm metric versions and includes a wall-mountable Rack-It.

The larger 18 Inch (1812) and 26 Inch (2616) squares are available individually or as a set, and includes a wall-mountable Rack-It.
