Like the OTT Vault chisels, the iron of the Chisel Plane is ground from cryogenically-treated A-2 tool steel. The flat side is surface ground, lapped and polished to a flatness unmatched in the industry. The bevel is expertly ground and hand-honed to a perfect cutting edge. Your chisel plane arrives razor-sharp, dead flat and ready to use. No other chisel plane on the market can say the same.
Whether you're shaving the ends of exposed tenons, cleaning up dovetails or removing glue squeeze-out, the Woodpeckers Chisel Plane gets the job done quickly and without the fuss you'll have with bedded-blade designs. A simple index pin and one flathead machine screw position the blade perfectly. The stainless steel body elevates your grip just the right amount and the red anodized aluminum palm pad puts the pressure right where it's needed.
You have your choice of one body with both square and spearpoint blades or eliminate the blade swapping with our deluxe package that includes two bodies…one for each blade style. Both options include wall-mountable Rack-Its® to keep your Chisel Planes right in plain sight and always ready for work.
As part of the OneTIME Tool Collector's Vault, the stainless Chisel Plane is only built to order and will not be stocked. The year of manufacture will be laser-engraved in the body.
