Bench Rule 3-Piece Set - 18" - 24" - 36" - Aluminum - Closeout

This OneTIME Tool starts with a highly accurate bench rule that’s a hefty 1-3/4" wide, then adds a sliding stop that elevates the tool’s usefulness and improves lay out accuracy. The stop makes repetitive marking fast, and doubles as a stand to hold the rule on edge so you can use the end graduations. The Bench Rules come in two models; satin-finish stainless steel and red anodized aluminum.  Which one you choose is about like the decision between chocolate and vanilla ice cream – they’re both great. The stainless rules stand up to rugged use better. The red anodized aluminum rules are a little easier to read in poor lighting. Both materials come in three sizes and all sizes come in your choice of inch-only or inch-metric graduations.

Let’s take a closer look at the stop. Using it for repetitive marking doesn’t need much explanation, but we built in an extra feature that takes it up a notch, literally. Set the edge of the stop at your chosen dimension, place the tip of a pencil in the specially milled notch in the end of the rule. Now you can scribe a line perfectly parallel with the edge of your board at exactly the dimension you set. Now, slip the stop off the end of the rule, slip it through the cut-out in the rule and you’ve got a stand that will hold your rule perfectly upright while you adjust the height of a router bit, saw blade or drill press using the end graduations.

For furniture and cabinet work, the large size of the Bench Rules makes them a pleasure to use. The blades are 1-3/4" wide with laser-engraved scales accurate to .004" total accumulated error over the entire length of the rule. The 1/16" thick stainless steel blades undergo a special finishing process to give them a non-glare satin finish and the deep, dark engraving will never wear off. The 3/16" aluminum blades have been anodized in our familiar “Woodpeckers Red” finish, and deeply engraved with bright white graduations, giving them excellent readability.
