Ultra-Shear Finger Grip Groove Router Bits for Cutting Boards and Serving Trays

The Ultra-Shear Finger Grip Groove Bit is designed to add a functional finger recess to the edges of cutting boards and serving boards. Its bearing-guided, carbide-tipped cutting profile mills a subtle concave groove that provides fingertip access while complementing the overall shape of the board. The pilot bearing helps maintain a consistent depth of cut and follows both straight and curved edges, making it suitable for a wide range of board designs.

The bit can be used to cut a continuous groove around the perimeter of a board or to create stopped grooves. For curved layouts, witness marks can be aligned with the center of the bearing to control the start and stop points of the cut.

We offer multiple sizes intended for approximately 3/4", 1", and 1-1/4" thick boards, allowing the groove profile to better match the board thickness and design.

The depth of cut is around 1/8" on the 1" & 1-1/4" thick board version and 3/32" deep on the 3/4" thick board version.
