Ultra-Shear 1/4" Solid Carbide Spiral Flush Trim Bits are 2-flute, 1/4" shank bits made for pattern routing and trimming material flush with mating surfaces. The 1/4" cutting diameter helps reach tight inside corners in intricate patterns, and the twin-bearing pilot follows the pattern during routing. 

We offer up-cut and down-cut versions in 1", 1-1/4", and 1-1/2" cut lengths, a 3/8" cut length (up cut only), plus money saving 4-pack options. 

Up-Cut or Down-Cut? Up-Cut bits pull the material toward the router…upward when using a hand-held router and downward when your router is in a table. It's the generally preferred approach for solid wood. Down-cut bits push the material away from the router. Usually not an issue when working with a hand-held router, but on a router table, down-cut bits require some care and attention. Their upside is a super-clean top surface on plywood…particularly plywood with thin face veneers.
