Compression bits blend an up-cut tip with down-cut spiral on the rest of the cutting area. This eliminates fuzzy edges or torn veneer on both the top and bottom of your material. But we took it a step further, optimizing the end of the cutter for clean plunge cuts and a clean bottom surface. You'll get exceptionally clean rabbets, grooves and dadoes in solid wood, plywood, MDF and other man-made materials. 

We make a very similar bit in solid carbide, but by brazing a carbide sleeve on a steel shank, we can offer the same cut quality and edge life for substantially less money. We offer two cut lengths; 1-5/8" and 2", both with 3/4" cut diameter.
