It is intended for users who choose the fence-only version first and want to add finer fence positioning later. The micro-adjuster allows you to dial in the fence position, with a quarter-turn moving the fence .004". This helps you make controlled adjustments when setting the fence for router table work and when sneaking up on a final fit.
