Osage Orange: A highly stable and durable exotic that will make any project special.

Osage Orange (Maclura pomifera), also known as Hedge Apple, is native to South-Central United States.  Its heartwood is golden to bright yellow, which inevitably ages to a darker medium brown with time: primarily due to exposure to ultraviolet light. The grain is straight with a fine to medium texture. Osage Orange is also extremely durable, being considered to be one of the most decay resistant woods in North America. While it’s hard, dense and often difficult to work, its reported to have little dulling effect on cutting edges. It turns, stains, glues, and finishes well. 

Wood is a natural product, and pieces may vary slightly. Due to wood movement, shrinkage, and expansion, please measure each piece carefully.  Dimensioned within +/-1/8” of size listed
